A keen skier, Prue was selected to tour Canada with the NSW Disabled Ski Team in 2001. Following this tour, Prue was faced with a difficult choice, swimming or skiing, a decision that would determine her life direction. Her choice of swimming has bought her much success.
The following year, Prue was selected in the Australian squad at age 15, and has since toured England, Germany, Argentina, Canada and the United States representing her country and winning numerous medals in her S13 classification. Her selection in the Athens 2004 Paralympic Team remains a highlight with Prue winning 5 silver and 1 bronze medals, as well as being awarded Junior Female Paralympian of the Year.
Prue continues to compete internationally and had the honour of being in the Commonwealth Games Team in 2006, competing in two finals. Prue was an Australia Day Ambassador in 2006 and 2007 and is a keen and experienced motivational speaker, who aims to use her experiences to inspire others and help them to achieve their goals. Prue is studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Newcastle, hoping to eventually work in the field of Occupational Therapy with kids with disabilities.
Prue is a determined young lady who focuses on her ability, not her disability.
